Devine Barrows, LLP was established in 1992 to provide highly-skilled, professional, efficient, personalized and cost-effective legal services to a wide range of clients, including individuals and businesses of all sizes. We provide legal representation throughout Massachusetts and practice in all Massachusetts state and federal courts.
Our attorneys have experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in all types of civil litigation. This provides us with a unique understanding and insight into how to evaluate and present claims and how to resolve cases with our clients best interests in mind.
The meticulous preparation of every case we handle often results in the settlement of cases through mediation, arbitration or other alternative dispute resolution options. We are always prepared to proceed to trial, however, in order to best protect the interests of our client.

Charles G. Devine, Jr.
Charles Devine founded the firm in 1992 in order to address the needs of his diverse clientele. Charlie's aggressive litigation philosophy was developed through his experience as a trial team leader at the Boston insurance defense firm, McCormack & Epstein, and prior to that, as an associate attorney with the Boston firm of Epstein, King & Isselbacher. Charlie concentrates on trying insurance defense cases, business disputes, contract disputes, personal injury and product liability claims, as well as a variety of other civil matters. Charlie received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1981 and his Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School in 1986. He is a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and Massachusetts State Courts

Michael J. Barrows
Michael Barrows concentrates in representing banks and other lending institutions in residential and commercial real estate closings. He also represents sellers and buyers in the closing process, including the preparation of purchase and sale agreements. As a former in-house counsel for United Stated Fidelity & Guaranty Company, his litigation practice focuses in the areas of insurance defense, business and personal injury law. Michael received his undergraduate education at Syracuse University in 1984 and earned his Juris Doctorate at Suffolk University Law School in 1987. He is a title insurance agent for Old Republic Title Insurance Company. Michael is licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and before the state courts of Massachusetts, Florida and Rhode Island.
